Housing
Delta County has seen significant movement of both property and residential housing in the last few years. Sales of single-family homes have followed the national trend; higher sales in the 1990's and a moderate slowing of sales in 2001 and a significant upswing of sales in 2005-2007. Delta County and the surrounding communities have approved several residential housing developments, and this will be adding to the overall housing inventory in the future.
During the 2000 Census, it was determined that there are 2,483 rental units in Delta County. The average median rent (excluding utilities) was $504. Overall, 37.1 % were in the $300 to $499 range, and 34.4% in the $500 to $749 range.
