Three downhill ski areas lie within a short drive of Delta County. Powderhorn Ski Resort is about 50 minutes away, and receives about 250" of total snowfall each year. Powderhorn has over 600 total acres of ski runs - 20% beginner, 50% intermediate, 15% advanced, and 15% expert. The 1,650 feet of vertical rise assures that your day will be filled with plenty of downhill action! The 3 lifts have the capacity to take 4,370 skiers per hour to the top, making the
lift lines nearly non-existent.
Telluride Ski Resort is only a two-hour drive to the southeast of Delta County, and Crested Butte Ski Resort is a two-hour drive to the northeast.

This 48,000 square foot facility offers a 25 yard pool, a tot pool, a separate therapy pool, a gymnasium, two racquetball courts, tennis courts, activity room for passive recreation, a weight room, aerobics dance studio, convention and banquet facilities, and meeting rooms with attached catering kitchen.

If you like fishing, Delta County is an angler’s paradise! Three large, state-operated reservoirs are within easy driving distance from anywhere in the county, and Grand Mesa features more than 200 lakes and reservoirs. Many of the reservoirs in Delta County are stocked, with rainbow trout and largemouth bass being the most prevalent.

The high country surrounding Delta County provides excellent opportunities for the snowmobile enthusiast. The Grand Mesa Trail System encompasses over 35,000 acres of terrain, with over 200 miles of groomed and marked snowmobile trails. it’s easy to fill the entire day with fun.
Designated trails for snowmobiling are also located within 30 minutes of Delta County on the Uncompahgre Plateau at the Dave Wood Recreation Area.
