Delta has an incredible climate. Winters are pleasant with some periods of cold, but most days are sunny. Snow that does fall tends to melt very quickly. Delta is often the destination for golfers who want to play their game in the winter - when other courses throughout Colorado are closed due to the weather. The nearby mountain areas furnish the snowy terrain for winter activities, and snowfall in the valley is very moderate, averaging only about 16 inches.
