Delta County is a hidden jewel located within Colorado. Fantastic opportunities abound for outdoor and indoor recreation. Bill Heddles Recreation Center

This 48,000 square foot facility offers a 25 yard pool, a tot pool, a separate therapy pool, a gymnasium, two racquetball courts, tennis courts, activity room for passive recreation, a weight room, aerobics dance studio, convention and banquet facilities, and meeting rooms with attached catering kitchen.


Over 10 municipal parks featuring fishing lakes, horse arenas, boat ramps, picnic facilities, playgrounds, ball fields and skate parks.



2 Golf courses



Voted the #2 most affordable golf course in the nation (2002) by Golf Magazine, Devil’s Thumb Devil's thumb golf courseoffers breathtaking views of three mountain ranges. Golfers can make the game as challenging as they desire, with five different sets of tees, changing play length, and approach angles. About 80% of golfers at Devil’s Thumb come from outside the area, some flying into Blake Airfield and taking a golf cart for the short trip to the golf course.


If you like fishing, Delta County is an angler’s paradise! Three large, state-operated reservoirs are within easy Crawford Resovoirdriving distance from anywhere in the county, and Grand Mesa features more than 200 lakes and reservoirs. Many of the reservoirs in Delta County are stocked, with rainbow trout and largemouth bass being the most prevalent.
