Sales

Retail sales in Delta County increased 4.6% in 2001. Delta experienced the largest increase of 7.7%. The largest decrease in retail sales was found in Crawford but these losses are calculated on a 22% increase from 1999.

For the year 2001 gross sales, the City of Delta represented 56%, followed by Hotchkiss with 8%, Cedaredge with 7%, Paonia with 7%. The remaining portion of the county, not included in these five municipalities account for 21% of the Delta County sales.
